In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the

Heather A. Petersen Perpetual Scholarship fund

Heather was passionate about young people, especially young women, receiving a college education and valuable mentored experiences. When Heather was in college she was the recipient of a scholarship that funded an out-of-state internship, which covered all her expenses and enabled her to work in a New York City internship without pay. This internship changed her life, and throughout this and her subsequent career in New York City, she developed many of her most enduring relationships.

To honor her memory and to continue her dedication to promoting education, her family has established a memorial scholarship fund to help students who, like Heather, are seeking out-of-state internships they may not be able to otherwise afford. With combined donations that reach a minimum threshold of $60,000, this perpetually endowed Heather A. Petersen Perpetual Scholarship will help young people for years to come.
